Short-Term Missions Opportunity for Optometrists in KENYA!

Kenya DrDeHaan

Dr. Ralph De Haan, OD, is leading a team of optometrists and other interested volunteers to Kenya and he needs 2 more ODs!

This will be Dr. De Haan’s 12th visit/eye care mission to the western part of Kenya. He works with a Kenyan NGO named BALM Africa Concern (https://www.balmafrica.org/). They serve in the neglected villages of Kenya and neighboring areas to empower the clergy and minister to the people.

“Is there not balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then has the health of the daughter of my people not been restored”? -- Jeremiah 8:22

“And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogue and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease” Matthew 9:35

The team leaves on January 31, 2020, and will be working with the CEO of BALM Africa Concern, Reverend Patrick Mugoh of Nairobi, You will stay about 8 days, 4 of which will be working in the eye clinic, followed by 2 days at a game park for some rest and game drives.  In the past Dr. De Haan has had groups as large as 27 and have gone with as few as 4. Ideally, he likes a team of 3 or 4 examiners with 6 to 10 support volunteers.

Optometry students very welcome!
